Bold and tangy just like the original Doo Dads snack mix, this recipe is easy to make and the perfect snack mix for parties, game day, and holiday gifting!
Whisk together melted butter and worcestershire sauce, then drizzle over cereal mix.
8 ounces unsalted butter, melted, ⅔ cup Worcestershire sauce
Roll paper sack closed and shake gently to combine all the ingredients. If using a large bowl, use your hands or a wooden spoon to gently combine. Be sure all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
Divide snack mix evenly between 3 large baking sheets (we used half sheet pans) and sprinkle with garlic salt.
2 teaspoons garlic salt
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until all the cereal is crisp (the wheat Chex will take the longest), stirring every 10 minutes.
Allow to cool completely.
Add cheddar sesame sticks and sprinkle with additional garlic salt if you want.
9 ounces cheddar flavored sesame sticks
Store in an airtight container at room temperature, or freeze in gallon-size freezer bags.
Notes
Make it Gluten-Free:
Swap extra rice or corn Chex for the wheat Chex and gluten-free pretzel sticks.
Use gluten-free cheese crackers instead of sesame sticks.
Check all your labels (including Worcestershire sauce and garlic salt) to make sure every ingredient is gluten-free!
Variations:
Add chili powder or hot sauce with the butter and Worcestershire sauce for an extra kick (we love Valentina Mexican hot sauce, you can find it at Walmart)
Use honey roasted peanuts and swap caramel popcorn for the sesame sticks for a sweet and salty mix
Experiment with swapping out different ingredients, like using corn nuts instead of peanuts or Goldfish crackers instead of the sesame sticks.
